Dr. Thuy Strong, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Thuy M. Vu Strong is a medically trained optometrist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of visual and ocular conditions in patients of all ages. After graduating from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Strong completed a residency in ocular diseases and pediatric optometry at The Eye Institute of Philadelphia. After relocating to Maryland, she worked in private practice as a pediatric optometrist and then as a consultative optometrist. She has clinical experience in treating patients from babies to the geriatric population, with an emphasis on ocular emergencies, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, dry eye disease, double vision, ocular muscle disorders, neuro-eye conditions and retinal pathology. She has also taught optometric students, residents and technicians during her residency and work tenures. She is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Maryland Optometric Association. The most rewarding aspect of her career is improving her patients’ quality of life by maintaining and enhancing their vision.
Dr. Strong is an active volunteer in her community, providing vision screenings at schools, serving at her children’s schools, organizing community events at her church. She has given education seminars to optometrists, as well as members in the community. She is a resident of Howard County and enjoys spending time with her family, baking sweet treats for her husband and four children.
