On May 7th, 2020, Governor Larry Hogan allowed health offices to resume elective and non-urgent medical procedures such as eye exams. Over the last 2 weeks we have slowly reopened and have been busy ensuring that your visit will be safe, efficient and stress-free. We thank you for your patience and understanding throughout the many changes we have been implementing. We are happy to announce our re-opening and are now ready to schedule your appointments. Please review our new policies and procedures below.

What you need to know when you visit First Sight Vision Care
Patients
- No walk-ins: All visits must be scheduled, including eyewear needs and pick-ups.
- Advanced online registration: Forms will be sent via email from “IntakeQ” and must be completed prior to your appointment. Please text (301.490.3036) or email (info@firstsightvisioncare.com) a picture of the front and back of your primary and secondary medical insurance card. We do not need a copy of your vision card.
- Wait in your Car: Please text/call us when you arrive and remain in your car until you have been notified to enter the office.
- Mask requirements: All patients are required to wear a mask while in office.
- No Gloves: Please remove your gloves and dispose of properly before you enter the office.
- Hand sanitizer: A tech will provide 1 pump of hand sanitizer upon entering the office.
- Temperature checks: All patients will be checked for fever with our non-contact thermometer. **A temperature reading of 100.4°F or higher will require that you reschedule your appointment.
- Bypass front desk check-in: You will be escorted to the exam room as soon as you enter the office.
- Limitations on companions: We ask that patients come alone. Children under the age of 18 may be accompanied by 1 adult.
- Telehealth: Skype and Facetime are available for certain medical situations. Please contact the office to see if this is an option for you.
- Contact Lens Wearers: In an effort to reduce contamination and cross-infection you may bring your own solution with you or we will provide you a new trial kit to be used in the office that you can take home. Scleral contact lens wearers will only be provided insertion/removal tools with new contact lens orders. Please bring your own tools for all other follow-up and dispensing appointments. **A $5 fee will be charged for any additional tool.
Office Staff
- All employees are required to complete a daily health assessment and temperature check at the beginning and end of every shift.
- Each team member has been equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Our staff has been trained and is continuously monitoring OSHA and infection control protocols for compliance.
Facility
- All exam rooms and testing rooms are disinfected between each patient.
- Full office disinfection is performed three times daily: before opening, mid-day shift change and after closing.
- Safety shields have been installed throughout the office.
- After each use, all medical procedure tools, optical tools and eyeglass frames are UV sterilized.
- Medical Grade air purifiers have been installed throughout our office.
- Used pens are disinfected after use. You are welcome to bring your own pen.
